The Wall of Remberance
has become the permanent home to the names of 36,574 American servicemen and 8000 Korean Augmentation to the United States Army (KATUSA) who gave their lives defending the people of South Korea. The Wall began right here in Vancouver, WA. at KWDVA Chapter 321.

A BIG hurdle we've achieved is receiving final approval for the design for the Wall of Remembrance and final approval on the layout of the names by the Fine Arts Commission, The National Capital Planning Commission and the National Park Service. Having done this in a little  over a year is truly remarkable and we have our architect, Hartman-Cox to thank for this! The only thing we need now to move forward  is to have the entire $24M in construction costs in the bank before we can break ground. We are hopeful a large portion, if not all this cost, will be allocated by the ROK Government  by the end ofthis year. We could then break ground by February/March 2021. Construction is estimated to take about 18 months and our goal is to have the dedication for the Wall of Remembrance in July 2022, the 70th Anniversary of the Armistice of the Korean War.
